Iced Down

"By the breath of God ice is given, and the broad waters are frozen" ~Job 37:10

Objective: To simulate the movement of glaciers and observe the debris they can leave behind

First we made two glaciers. One made of solid ice, the other half debris, half ice. We set them up on an incline and observed.

This is what was left behind.
(along with the puddle of water all over the
counter and the floor)

After observing what was left behind by our tiny glacier, and reading how the combination of rocks, dirt, ice, and water along the path erodes the land, the kids were able to imagine the damage a massive glacier could do.
